The chores from his mom didn't stop at just packing boxes though. Summer was technically here and yet all he could predict was how he'd be stuck in his new temporary room for the entirety of it. The week went by relatively fast, he'd finished up homeschool and didn't know when the public schools were ending. He'd never seen anyone actually outside, then again he had spent most of his time here in his or Nick's room strumming his guitar or playing the newest video game. His messy hair was swept back with the sweaty palm and fingertips of his right hand as he gazed out of the window out onto the empty, soulless street. Maybe he could go back and make a quick visit, pretend that there was another vinyl that caught his eye and buy it despite spending the vast majority of his pocket money on the first one.Īnyway, more boxes needed to be emptied and Finn was so caught up in thought that when he was finally ready to fully commit to the task he'd noticed his mom had already completed it fully. He'd deducted that she was related to the owner of the shop due to his 'genius' detective skills of comparing her last name to the name of the shop. Forever fulfilling the capitalist engine of modern day society.

She was just some girl who'd bothered to make idle chatter with him, it was probably in her job description to keep the customers mildly entertained while she innocently pocketed their money. Just for even a moment longer, just to get to know her.įinn groaned at his own stupidity. No, it wasn't.īut for this girl, he was willing to settle in. Was it really worth it? To put the longtime effort into a temporary home? In his mind, no. Finn rolled his eyes at the unnecessary task, those items of furniture would just go back to those very same boxes in a few months time. He'd been stuck in the house since the encounter, his mom had demanded that he help her with the unpacking. Like an old friend yet also an infamous stranger.

It was spinning around in his head over and over and over until it felt like the most naturally unnatural name in the entire world. Her exterior was coated in a thick layer of mystery and he couldn't help but swallow the saliva that had unknowingly built itself up inside his mouth while even attempting to wrap his head around the concept of her. He wanted to sit and learn her life story. No one had ever caught his eye like that in his entire life. It had been a week since he'd last seen the girl from the record shop.
